Singer IU's September Goyang Stadium concert has been canceled, and the release of her 6th full-length album has been postponed. This decision was made due to the worsening symptoms of patulous eustachian tube, a condition IU has been suffering from, and she personally shared the news through her fan community. She plans to prioritize her health recovery and focus on treatment.
IU, who is celebrating her 18th debut anniversary, was originally scheduled to begin a national tour with the Goyang Stadium performance in September. However, in July, she announced the exacerbation of her patulous eustachian tube symptoms, making it difficult to proceed with large-scale concerts. Patulous eustachian tube is a condition where the eustachian tube, which connects the middle ear to the back of the nose, remains open, and can be caused by rapid weight loss, extreme stress, or accumulated fatigue. As the main promotion for her 6th album was closely linked to the concerts, the album release was also delayed.
Many bloggers shared the sentiment that IU's health is the top priority. Despite the disappointment, they view it as a necessary decision for the artist's well-being and hope for her full recovery and return to the stage in good health. To ease fans' disappointment, two of IU's past stadium concert films, 'IU Concert: The Golden Hour' and 'IU Concert: The Winning,' have been re-released in theaters.
