Busan International Film Festival 2026 Lineup: World Premieres and Ticketing Tips

The 31st Busan International Film Festival (BIFF) is set to take place from October 6 to 15, 2026, across Busan. This year's festival will feature a total of 316 films, comprising 247 official selections from 59 countries and additional Community BIFF screenings. A significant highlight is the 105 world or international premieres, which include 95 World Premieres and 10 International Premieres.

Screenings will be held at various venues across Busan, including the Busan Cinema Center, CGV Centum City, and Lotte Cinema Centum City. The program is diverse, featuring categories such as Competition, Gala Presentation, Icon, and Vision, offering audiences a chance to see new films not yet released in general cinemas. World Premieres, making their global debut in Busan, are particularly anticipated, often featuring direct appearances by directors and actors, creating a vibrant atmosphere.

Local bloggers emphasize the importance of understanding the film classification system to navigate the extensive lineup effectively. World Premieres are often the top priority for ticket purchases. When booking, it is crucial to verify not only the film title but also the screening date and venue. Utilizing the official website's full film list, daily schedules, and venue-specific timetables is recommended for planning an optimal viewing experience.
