Seuldo, located at the end of Ulsan's Dong-gu Bang어진 Port, is a small rock island named for the harp-like sounds produced when waves crash against its rocks. Open year-round with no entrance fee, it is a beloved coastal spot for both locals and visitors, offering pet-friendly walks. In autumn, the hills are covered with blooming kochia and pampas grass, providing beautiful floral scenery.
Seuldo is connected by a breakwater and bridge, where visitors are greeted by a ghost whale sculpture. The island features the Seuldo Lighthouse, an unmanned lighthouse built in the late 1950s, and a red lighthouse at the end of the breakwater, creating a picturesque view. Seuldo Art, reopened in January 2024, offers various exhibitions, and its rooftop provides panoramic views of Seuldo and the Bang어진 Sea. The nearby Seonggeut Village features mural-lined alleys and stories of haenyeo (female divers).
Bloggers describe Seuldo as a place to experience the distinct charm of the sea and port, different from large parks. The Seuldo Badagil trail extends towards Daewangam Park, offering coastal walks with benches for rest. The optimal time for viewing the autumn kochia is early to mid-October, and checking the Seuldo Chohwadanji parking information before visiting is recommended for convenience.
