A special exhibition titled 'Shining Children' by picture book author Lee Suzy is currently running at the cultural complex Picture Book Garden 1937 until early November. The exhibition highlights Lee Suzy's unique rhythmic storytelling through picture books that often contain few or no words, featuring various works including her collaboration with poet Jin Eun-young, 'Today is My Birthday'.
The exhibition is housed on the second floor of Picture Book Garden 1937, a former North Chungcheong Provincial Office building. It is divided into five main spaces, including exhibition rooms 1, 2, 3, 4, and the governor's office, with each section themed around a specific book. Attendees can view original illustrations, digital prints, and interactive installations, with a pop-up book space and merchandise shop located on the third floor. Original artworks from popular books like 'Wave, Let's Play' are also on display.
Bloggers expressed that the exhibition reaffirmed Lee Suzy's innate genius as a picture book artist. They appreciated the diverse emotional range of the exhibits, from works conveying sadness to those capturing a child's joy, and particularly highlighted their fondness for books such as 'Wave, Let's Play'.
