Rumors are currently circulating online about a 'leftist celebrity blacklist' that includes prominent figures such as Park Bo Young, Yoo Jae Suk, IU, and NewJeans. This list, which categorizes entertainers based on their alleged political leanings, originated from a post titled 'Latest Leftist Celebrity Blacklist 2025ver' shared on the 'Free Right-wing American Politics Gallery' online community.
The blacklist reportedly includes TV personalities Yoo Jae Suk and Park Myung Soo for criticizing former President Yoon Suk Yeol's December 3rd martial law declaration. Actors Go Ah Sung, Park Bo Young, Lee Dong Wook, Lee Jong Suk, and singers IU and NewJeans are listed for allegedly supporting or cheering for impeachment rallies. Vernon of SEVENTEEN, who viewed a photo exhibition for former President Yoon Suk Yeol's impeachment, and artists like Psy, Gummy, and Paul Kim, who performed at a Liberation Day eve concert hosted by the Democratic Party government, are also named. Additionally, Apink's Jung Eun Ji and B1A4's Sandeul, who attended an 'Impeachment of President Lee Jae-myung' event, are included, with singers Lee Seung Hwan and Lee Eun Mi labeled as 'leftist godfather' and 'leftist godmother,' respectively.
These blacklist rumors have ignited controversy regarding attempts to categorize celebrities based on their political views. Online discussions are active concerning the credibility of the list and whether it infringes upon celebrities' privacy and freedom of expression. There are also growing concerns about the societal impact of such information dissemination.
