Director Lee Chang-dong's new film 'Possible Love', his first in eight years, has garnered significant anticipation both domestically and internationally after winning the Grand Jury Prize at the Venice International Film Festival. Starring acclaimed actors Jeon Do-yeon, Sol Kyung-gu, Jo In-sung, and Cho Yeo-jeong, the film will have a two-week exclusive theatrical run in Korea starting September 23, before its global release on Netflix on November 6. With a lengthy runtime of 164 minutes and an R-rating, the film is expected to delve deeply into social realities such as labor, class, and marital relationships.
'Possible Love' tells the story of a laid-off worker couple and a documentary filmmaker couple whose paths cross, leading them to confront their vastly different lives and desires. As Lee Chang-dong's first feature film since 'Burning' eight years ago, it is anticipated to provoke profound thought, a hallmark of his previous works. The film's quality has also been recognized with official invitations to the competitive section of the 83rd Venice International Film Festival and the Special Presentations section of the 51st Toronto International Film Festival.
During the recent press screening held at CGV Yongsan I'Park Mall in Seoul, actors Sol Kyung-gu, Jo In-sung, and Cho Yeo-jeong discussed the film, with Jeon Do-yeon joining via video call due to overseas commitments. The actors' fashion choices also drew attention; Jo In-sung showcased soft charisma in a light greige-toned setup, Cho Yeo-jeong exuded elegance in a high-neck black blouse with a subtle dot pattern, and Sol Kyung-gu added gravitas with an all-black look, each expressing their individual style.
