Haha was born in Stuttgart, Germany, and grew up in Changwon, South Korea

Broadcaster Haha (Ha Dong-hoon) was born in Stuttgart, Germany, but spent his childhood growing up in Changwon, South Korea, attending elementary and middle school there for six years. This background led to a notable 'hometown pride' rivalry with Joo Woo-jae on the program 'Hangout with Yoo', capturing viewers' attention.

Despite his profile listing Stuttgart, Germany, as his birthplace, Haha asserted himself as the 'original Changwon person' based on his formative years there. He challenged Joo Woo-jae, suggesting that as a model student, Joo might not know the true charm of Changwon beyond home and school. Joo Woo-jae countered, claiming he followed an 'elite course', leading to a humorous debate. Both continuously displayed their 'Changwon pride' by arguing over who knew the city's landmarks and geography better.

Bloggers highlight Haha as a multi-entertainer active in various fields, including singing, business, and streaming, beyond just broadcasting. They note his establishment of unique characters in 'Infinite Challenge' and 'Running Man', which garnered widespread public popularity, and his ventures into businesses like restaurants and entertainment.
