Nodeulseom Island began welcoming visitors again to its waterfront cultural spaces starting September 18, 2026. As part of the 'Nodeul Global Art Island' project, some areas were previously restricted, but now the ecological garden, play garden, and walking trails are open, allowing for picnics and strolls. This development enhances Nodeulseom's role as a Seoul outing spot for walking and relaxing while enjoying views of the Han River.
Currently, the waterfront cultural spaces along the island's periphery are open, including the Play Garden, Ecological Garden, Grass Garden, Nook Garden, East Meadow, Atelier Nodeul, and the Nodeulseom walking trails. In contrast, the Aquatic Garden is scheduled for completion in December 2027, and the Sky Art Garden in the island's center aims for completion by 2030. Outdoor areas are open 24 hours, while indoor facilities have specific operating hours and are closed on Mondays, Seollal, and Chuseok.
Bloggers suggest that the currently open areas of Nodeulseom offer enough to enjoy for half a day, recommending it as a picnic spot with views of the Han River and sunset. The spacious lawn and tiered seating in the Ecological Garden are noted as ideal for relaxation, and a play garden is available for children. Mat rentals are offered on Sundays at Nodeul Bookstore on the second floor, and various official programs like Picnic Day and Pop-up Library are also running.
