Song Kang Returns to Acting with 'Four Hands' After Military Discharge

Actor Song Kang is currently generating significant buzz as he successfully returns to acting with the tvN drama 'Four Hands' after completing his mandatory military service on October 1, 2025. 'Four Hands' is set in an arts high school where musical prodigies gather, depicting their friendships, love, competition, and growth. Song Kang takes on the role of Kang Bio, a character with exceptional piano skills and academic achievements.

Song Kang enlisted on April 2, 2024, and served for approximately 18 months, choosing 'Four Hands' as his first project post-discharge. He reportedly felt so nervous during the first script reading that his hands trembled, and he dedicated himself to weight loss and piano practice for his role as a pianist. This project garnered particular attention as it marks Song Kang's first work after military service and Lee Jun-young's last before his enlistment.

Bloggers note that Song Kang has returned with a more composed and mature aura, moving beyond his previous youthful romance image after his military service. His portrayal in suits and at the piano exudes a deeper charm. His return has been met with high public interest and anticipation, evidenced by his top ranking in the Korea Corporate Reputation Research Institute's September 2026 actor brand reputation survey.
