The 14th Namhae German Village Beer Festival will take place in Namhae-gun, Gyeongsangnam-do, for three days from October 9th to 11th, 2026. Inspired by Munich's Oktoberfest, this festival is a representative autumn event in Korea, attracting hundreds of thousands of tourists annually. It offers an authentic European experience with traditional German beer, sausages, lively Eurodance music, and exotic parades.
This year's festival, under the slogan 'Cheers, World! Prost, Namhae!', aims to evolve into a 'Glocal' festival by introducing more participatory programs, an expanded Big Tent, and a Kids Zone for families. The opening day on October 9th will feature a grand welcome parade and an oak barrel tapping performance starting at 5 PM. Visitors can savor authentic German craft beers like Arcobrau and Weihenstephan, alongside exotic dishes such as Schweinshaxe and sausages. The main stage will host diverse events, including traditional German brass band performances, yodeling, beer-drinking contests, and DJ parties throughout the festival.
Preparations for the festival are well underway, with yellow tents and large beer barrel decorations already set up in the German Village square, creating an festive atmosphere. During the festival period, parking at the German Village square will be unavailable, and visitors are advised to use the nearby Garden Art Village parking lot. Before or after the festival, visitors can enjoy German-style cuisine at restaurants like 'Wurstladen' within the German Village, extending their festival experience.
