The Hongseong Namdanghang Shrimp Festival is a prominent seafood-themed festival held annually in autumn around Namdanghang Port in Hongseong-gun, Chungcheongnam-do. Visitors can savor plump seasonal shrimp caught from the clean waters of Cheonsu Bay, while enjoying family-friendly experiential programs and diverse performances, providing a rich experience for all.
The 31st Hongseong Namdanghang Shrimp Festival in 2026 ran for 66 days, from September 4th to November 8th. The price for 1kg of shrimp was standardized at 45,000 won for takeout and 60,000 won for dining in restaurants. The bare-handed shrimp catching experience took place on weekend afternoons, costing 10,000 won for adults and free for children. Opening performances were held from September 4th to 6th, and special Chuseok performances from September 25th to 26th.
Bloggers noted that the extended festival period allowed visitors to experience a lively atmosphere at any time. They particularly highlighted the bare-handed shrimp catching as a fun activity for children, advising to bring spare clothes as participants might get wet. While ample parking was available around Namdanghang Marine Fountain Park, it could get crowded on weekends, so early or late arrivals were recommended.
