Hwangmaesan Provincial Park in Hapcheon, Gyeongnam, is renowned for its spring azaleas and autumn silvergrass, but a newly established hydrangea garden has made it a popular summer destination. In September, the hydrangeas begin to turn pink, signaling the arrival of autumn, while the silvergrass starts to shimmer in silver, offering a unique opportunity to enjoy both seasonal beauties simultaneously.
Located within Hwangmaesan Provincial Park, the hydrangea garden is easily accessible, just a 5-minute walk from the summit parking lot. As of September 11th and 20th, the hydrangeas were observed to be transitioning to a pink hue, and the silvergrass was soft and light golden. Parking fees are 4,000 KRW during the off-peak season and 5,000 KRW during peak season, with a sharing cart service available for visitor convenience.
Bloggers described the combined scenery of hydrangeas and silvergrass at Hwangmaesan as 'dreamlike and beautiful,' highlighting numerous photo zones perfect for capturing memorable moments. They found the changing colors of the flowers with the seasons particularly charming, and many reported a sense of healing from walking amidst the open highland scenery and cool mountain breeze.
