The 2026 Busan Heritage Run is a cultural heritage running festival organized to support the UNESCO World Heritage designation of Busan's refugee capital heritage. This event focuses on sharing Busan's historical significance and cultural heritage with citizens, going beyond mere running records. Held against the backdrop of Dadaepo Beach's autumn sea, it attracts both runners and tourists.
The race is scheduled for Sunday, November 8, 2026, starting at 8:00 AM at the Dadaepo Beach Central Public Parking Lot area. There are two categories: 10km (entry fee 50,000 KRW) and 5km (entry fee 40,000 KRW), with a first-come, first-served registration limit of 10,000 participants. Registration opens online on the official website at 10:00 AM on Tuesday, August 25, 2026, and closes upon reaching the limit based on payment completion. All participants receive a New Balance functional T-shirt and running socks, with an additional special ceramic keyring for the first 3,000 registrants. Finishers will receive a cultural heritage commemorative medal.
Bloggers express high anticipation for running amidst the beautiful coastal scenery of Dadaepo Beach. They particularly highlight the appeal of the event as a festival celebrating Busan's history and cultural heritage, rather than just a race for personal bests. They advise prompt registration at the opening time due to the first-come, first-served nature, emphasizing that payment completion is crucial. To avoid congestion on race day, using public transportation is recommended, and bringing a windbreaker or other outerwear for warmth against the chilly autumn morning sea breeze is suggested.
