The 2026 Seoul International Fireworks Festival is scheduled to take place on Saturday, September 5th, around Yeouido Hangang Park. The main fireworks show will run for approximately 70 minutes, from 8:00 PM to 9:10 PM, featuring teams from the UK, USA, and Korea presenting fireworks synchronized with music. This year's festival is held three weeks earlier than previous years, a decision made to accommodate the Chuseok holiday and international tourist demand.
New this year are the 'Tower Fireworks' utilizing Wonhyo Bridge and a 'Decalcomania' display unfolding symmetrically. A pre-festival event was held for the first time on September 4th, and Nodeulseom Island will operate as a fully paid viewing area, the 'Orange Play Zone.' However, Yeouido Hangang Park and Ichon Hangang Park remain free viewing areas, with locations like Mapo Bridge vicinity, Seonyudo Park, and Saryuksin Historic Park suggested as good spots.
Bloggers advise arriving by 2-3 PM at the latest to secure a good viewing spot for the main show. While Yeouido Hangang Park offers a close-up experience of the fireworks and music, it can be very crowded. For a broader view of the fireworks and Seoul's nightscape, Ichon Hangang Park or Saryuksin Park are recommended alternatives.
