Yeosoo Unnie's Bomnalen Hwang Cheese Jjonddeok Fully Refunded Due to Taste Controversy

The 'Cheese Fondue Dubai Jjonddeok Hwang Cheese Flavor' launched by popular influencer 'Yeosoo Unnie's' brand 'Bomnalen' recently faced a taste controversy, leading to a full refund. Many consumers expected the salty and rich flavor characteristic of Hwang Cheese, but reviews consistently reported an unusual taste reminiscent of banana or cosmetics. This growing dissatisfaction prompted Bomnalen, the seller, to decide on a refund.

Each box of the product contained three rice cakes, priced at 13,550 KRW during the launch discount, with an additional 4,000 KRW for shipping. Each rice cake was relatively high in calories at 421kcal, and the manufacturer recommended a thawing time of around 15 minutes. The product featured a thin chocolate coating and chewy glutinous rice cake skin filled with kadaif and Hwang Cheese cream, but many consumers reported inconsistencies in the intensity and acidity of the Hwang Cheese flavor.

Bomnalen decided to issue refunds, acknowledging that the product did not deliver the expected cheese flavor to consumers. Refund applications are accepted until 11:59 PM on Wednesday, September 30th, via Naver TalkTalk on the Bomnalen Smart Store. Due to this controversy, the Hwang Cheese flavored product is currently unavailable on the official website, with discussions of a potential re-release after reformulation.
