K-pop fans are currently buzzing about the upcoming debut of TUIDE, a new seven-member girl group under HYBE's label ABD. A significant reason for this excitement is the inclusion of Park Seoyeon, the younger sister of TWICE's leader Jihyo, who is making her official idol debut. This connection to a global sensation, combined with HYBE's backing, has generated considerable anticipation for the new group.
TUIDE is set to debut on August 24, 2026, with their first mini-album, "TUNE & PLAY," featuring the title track "SUN KISS." The group comprises members from diverse cultural backgrounds including Korea, the US, UK, and Japan, all of whom are teenagers. Before their official debut, TUIDE held a special "Playground" preview event on August 1st and 2nd, where they performed all five songs from their debut album for a limited audience of 450 Weverse subscribers, strictly prohibiting any recording or photography.
Local bloggers note that the pre-debut event, despite its strict no-recording policy, was a calculated move to build hype and control the narrative around TUIDE's debut. They express keen interest in Seoyeon's unique path as an idol, distinct from her sister Jihyo's, and anticipate her performance and vocal contributions to the group. The debut is seen as establishing another prominent "K-pop visual sisters" duo in the industry.
