NewJeans has recently garnered significant attention in Korea with the release of their 4th-anniversary content, featuring four members: Minji, Hanni, Haerin, and Hyein. This content has fueled widespread speculation among K-pop fans about a potential comeback, especially given the group's extended hiatus and ongoing internal disputes.
On July 22, 2026, NewJeans unveiled a special content titled '2026 Summer of NewJeans' across official platforms, marking the first time four members appeared together on official channels since contract disputes began in late 2024. Earlier, on May 5, 2026, Minji visited a fan-organized birthday cafe, leaving handmade cookies and a heartfelt letter expressing her desire to communicate with fans. While Haerin, Hyein, and Hanni are reported to have returned to the agency, Minji's return is still under discussion, and Daniel remains in a legal dispute.
Local bloggers expressed excitement and anticipation for the group's return, with many noting the stable feeling of the four-member lineup and speculating about a new beginning. Fans were particularly moved by Minji's letter, interpreting her words about wanting to talk for hours as a significant message about the current situation. Some comments also touched on changes in styling, suggesting a shift in aesthetic.
