The National Museum of Korea's goods shop, 'Muz', is gaining significant popularity among both domestic and international visitors for its diverse range of souvenirs that reinterpret traditional Korean culture in a modern way. Interest in the goods shop is growing as much as the museum's exhibitions, with practical and well-designed products creating buzz.
There are three goods shops within the National Museum of Korea: the Main Shop next to the Grand Hall on the 1st floor of the West Wing, Shop 2 in the center of the 1st floor of the Permanent Exhibition Hall, and the Muz Brand Promotion Hall in the center of the 3rd floor of the Permanent Exhibition Hall. Products range in price, including miniature Pensive Bodhisattvas (65,000 KRW), Daedongyeojido map posters (8,000 KRW), and celadon tumblers (25,000 KRW). The selection includes affordable items like postcards (starting from 1,500 KRW) and magnets (starting from 2,500 KRW), as well as higher-priced items such as the Myeongtae exorcism object (around 30,000 KRW) and Seokguram lighting (63,000-106,000 KRW). Notably, collaborative products with Blackpink and Kakao Friends also attract visitors' attention.
Bloggers commend the Muz shop for the enjoyment of browsing its diverse product categories and positively note how traditional artifacts are redesigned for everyday use. While some mention the prices can be a bit high, many products are suitable for gifts or personal collections, and visitors are encouraged to take their time exploring the shops after viewing the exhibitions.
