IVE is preparing for a comeback with a new album, 'Looks Can Kill', eight months after their last release. Concurrently, member Rei is gaining individual recognition by releasing her first solo original soundtrack for a drama. This period highlights both the group's ongoing musical activities and the expansion of individual members' careers.
IVE's mini-album 'Looks Can Kill' is scheduled for release on October 26, 2026, with a pre-release song on October 19. Rei, whose full name is Naoi Rei, was born on February 3, 2004, in Nagoya, Japan, and debuted with IVE on December 1, 2021. Her solo OST, 'Hello,' for the Disney+/Channel A drama 'Dive Into You,' was released on September 27, 2026, in both Korean and Japanese versions. Separately, fencing athlete Yang Seung-hye, born July 28, 2006, is noted for a visual resemblance to Rei.
Local bloggers express interest in Rei's expanding solo career, observing her ability to lead a full song independently after her group activities. They also discuss the visual comparison between Rei and fencing athlete Yang Seung-hye, with some highlighting Yang Seung-hye's athletic achievements, such as her world ranking of 53 and participation in the 2026 Aichi-Nagoya Asian Games, as more significant than the resemblance.
