SEVENTEEN Hoshi: Updates on Military Service Injury, Eyewear, and New Music

SEVENTEEN's Hoshi has been a topic of discussion among fans due to a mix of personal news and professional releases during his military service. This includes an unexpected injury, his fashion choices, and new music, all contributing to ongoing interest in his activities.

Hoshi recently sustained a complete rupture of the anterior cruciate ligament in his knee during practice for a ground forces performance team, leading to surgery and recovery. He had enlisted on September 16 last year and served in the Army Taekwondo Demonstration Team, expressing regret about missing scheduled performances. Separately, Hoshi, along with other SEVENTEEN members, was seen wearing Look Optical glasses, specifically the ZINN (LC5962) model, in fan meetings and promotional content. Furthermore, Hoshi released a digital single titled "SNAPBACK" on June 15, 2026, for his birthday, following other pre-recorded songs like "Take A Shot" and "아기자기" during his service, which began in September 2025 with an expected discharge in March 2027.

Bloggers highlighted Hoshi's concern for his teammates despite his injury, noting his request for support for the Taekwondo demonstration team and fellow member Woozi. They also pointed out his consistent dedication as the performance team leader and main dancer, emphasizing his strong will for the stage, which makes his current recovery period particularly poignant for fans. The consistent release of music like "SNAPBACK" during his service is seen as a gift to fans, maintaining his connection even while fulfilling his duties.
