NewJeans Hanni's Journey from K-Pop Cover Dance to Global Stage Presence

The K-pop scene in Korea is currently discussing NewJeans Hanni's impactful stage presence and her unique background, which has contributed to her appeal. Recent content featuring four NewJeans members, including Hanni, has generated anticipation among fans regarding potential future activities or a comeback, underscoring the group's ongoing influence.

Hanni, born in Melbourne, Australia, to Vietnamese parents, developed an early passion for music, participating in a children's audition program and performing with a K-pop cover dance team called 'Aemina'. Her K-pop journey progressed after successfully auditioning in the 2019 Plus Global Auditions, where she showcased both melodic guitar skills and powerful choreography. She then trained for approximately two years at Source Music and eight months at ADOR before debuting with NewJeans in July 2022.

Local bloggers consistently praise Hanni's performance style, noting her natural stage presence, varied member-specific aura, and ability to convey song concepts through expressions and gaze. Her ability to communicate through dance and genuinely enjoy the stage has particularly resonated with audiences, even those not typically interested in idols. This authentic approach is seen as a key factor in NewJeans' and Hanni's widespread appeal.
