IVE member An Yujin's apartment subscription win in Seoul has ignited significant public discussion, primarily due to the substantial potential profit from the "lottery subscription" system. This event has brought to light widespread concerns about the fairness and accessibility of housing opportunities for ordinary citizens and young professionals in Korea.

The apartment in question is "The H Bangbae" in Seocho-gu, a large-scale development where An Yujin reportedly secured a unit through a random draw with a 215:1 competition ratio. An 84m² unit, priced at approximately 2.2 billion KRW at the time of subscription in August 2024, is now estimated to be worth around 4 billion KRW, suggesting a potential 1.8 billion KRW profit. However, securing such a unit required a substantial 20% down payment, equating to at least 400 million KRW in immediate cash for an 84m² apartment. An Yujin, born September 1, 2003, is the leader and vocalist of IVE, known for her stable performances and bright personality.

Local bloggers and online communities have expressed strong sentiments of "relative deprivation," arguing that the current housing subscription system, despite its "price cap" intention, disproportionately benefits high-income individuals with significant cash reserves. Critics view it as a "money game" for the privileged, leading to calls for systemic reform to address the structural inequalities that disadvantage young, first-time homebuyers without substantial upfront capital.
