EXO CBX Wins Injunction Against INB100 Over Contract Dispute

EXO unit CBX (Chen, Baekhyun, Xiumin) recently won a significant court injunction, temporarily suspending their exclusive contract with agency INB100. This ruling stems from a dispute primarily centered on the agency's alleged failure to pay settlement funds and a subsequent breakdown of mutual trust between the artists and the company.

The Seoul Central District Court's civil division granted CBX's request, citing INB100's non-fulfillment of its obligation to pay settlement funds from entertainment activities and an irreparable loss of trust. The court also emphasized protecting the artists' constitutional freedom to choose their profession and engage in entertainment activities. This decision allows CBX to pursue independent activities such as album releases, concerts, and broadcasts without interference from INB100 until a final judgment is reached in the main lawsuit.

Local bloggers noted that the core of this dispute was financial, specifically the non-payment of settlement funds, rather than typical personal conflicts. The agency's representative being in custody for unrelated fraud charges and their non-appearance in court likely contributed to the relatively swift decision. While this injunction provides immediate freedom for CBX, it is a temporary measure, and the ultimate validity of the contract will be determined in a separate main lawsuit.
