The 2026 Classic Park Concert is creating buzz in Busan, offering free outdoor classical music performances at Busan Citizen Park. This cultural event aims to promote the upcoming Busan Opera House and make classical music more accessible to the public, aligning with the city's "Festival October" program.
Scheduled for October 2nd (Friday) and 3rd (Saturday) from 7 PM to 9 PM, the concert takes place at the Hallyeoria Lawn Plaza's outdoor stage. Admission is free and on a first-come, first-served basis, with attendees encouraged to bring their own mats. In case of rain, performances will move to the 2,011-seat Busan Concert Hall. The first day features "Classic On Screen" with conductor Baek Yun-hak and the Busan Chamber Music Society, performing film scores. The second day, "Classic On Stage," presents conductor Chung Myung-whun leading the KBS Symphony Orchestra, with pianist Kim Se-hyun, performing works like Brahms' Symphony No. 2 and Rachmaninoff's Piano Concerto No. 2.
Local bloggers highlight the concert's appeal as a free, relaxed autumn outing suitable for families and couples. They suggest the first day's film music program is ideal for those new to classical music, while the second day offers a more traditional orchestral experience. Given the expected attendance of up to 10,000 people per day, visitors are advised to check transportation and arrival details in advance.
